Most hotels will hand a retreat planner a room block and a list of phone numbers. We learned early that wasn't enough. When corporate clients started calling the Old Town Bluffton Inn, many of them had the same problem: they couldn't find anyone local who knew where to hold the meeting, where to take the team to dinner, or what to do with the afternoon off. When we could point them to the right people, they booked with us. When we couldn't, they went somewhere else.
So we got good at it. What started as helping one planner find a meeting room has become how we work with every corporate group. We handle the rooms. For everything else, from meeting space to dining to entertainment, we get planners to the right provider fast, so planning moves quicker and the event runs smoother, nearly all of it within walking distance of our front door in Old Town Bluffton.
Who This Is For
This is for the people who plan executive retreats, leadership offsites, board meetings, and recruiting visits, whether you work inside the company or you're the outside planner hired to pull the whole thing off. We work with companies of every size. The largest organizations use us too; they simply bring us the right-sized piece of the program, like the leadership team, the board, or the recruiting trip.
We're a 14-room boutique inn, and we'll be straight about what that means: we comfortably host up to 26 overnight guests. If your group fits, few settings for a corporate retreat in South Carolina offer this much privacy and this much personal attention.
Two Ways to Book the Inn
Whether you need a corporate retreat hotel for a small leadership team or a full group of up to 26, there are two ways to book the Inn.
Full buyout. The entire Inn is yours. Our entry doors stay locked at all times, so no one walks through who isn't part of your group, and conversations stay where they belong. With a full buyout, our downstairs parlor and bar become your private meeting space, with room for up to 40 people comfortably, so local colleagues can join the sessions even if they aren't staying over. We don't keep presentation equipment on site, but we know exactly which providers to call for screens, sound, or whatever your agenda needs. The grounds behind the Inn can host an evening oyster roast, a BBQ mixer, or a relaxed social after a long day of sessions. Catered events are welcome indoors in the parlor and bar or outside on the grounds, from a bar setup to a full meal. We'll point you to caterers we trust, and they handle their own setup and breakdown. There is an additional fee for on-site catered events, based on the complexity of the event.
Partial buyout. For smaller groups, a partial buyout covers roughly half the Inn. Your team stays together under one roof, and we'll point you to private meeting space nearby for sessions that need to stay confidential.
The same attention our leisure guests get. Corporate groups enjoy all of the Inn's usual amenities, and when a group needs something different, we tailor them to fit. Our goal is simple: your retreat should feel as detailed and personal as any stay we offer our leisure guests. Comfort and privacy are paramount here. From our custom-made beds, built for real rest and relaxation, to our locked entry doors, everything is designed so every member of your group feels like a VIP guest.
What This Looks Like in Practice
A well-respected regional corporation expanding here in the Lowcountry uses the Inn as its home base in Bluffton, housing high-value recruiting targets and visiting executives whenever they’re in town. For a recruit, where they stay is their first real impression of the town, and often of the job. That's a responsibility we take seriously, and it's why several organizations now trust us with their recruiting visits.
When their representative first came to us, he had never seen most of the meeting spaces around Old Town. So we took him to them. We walked the rooms, met the people who run them, and matched each space to the kind of meeting it suited best. That's what we do for every planner: we don't send a list; we show you the rooms.
Meeting Space Around Old Town
Looking for a corporate retreat venue in South Carolina? Meeting space here isn't hard to find if you know where to look. We do. Beyond our own downstairs, these are the rooms we lean on most. The first three are our preferred partners, just steps from the Inn:
-
FARM. Meeting and entertaining space right next door to the Inn, with room for any group we host.
-
Burnt Church Distillery. Three meeting spaces, from about 10 guests in the smallest to around 60 in the largest, with AV already built in.
-
The Roasting Room. A flexible, multipurpose space upstairs above Corner Perk for a presentation, a reception, or a working session with some character. It also makes an intimate room for a private concert.
-
The Don Ryan Center for Innovation. Polished, professional meeting space with AV already in place, and room for any group we host.
-
The Pearl Kitchen & Bar. A private space upstairs, above the dining room, ideal for groups of 20 to 25. We're close with The Pearl's owners, and our groups feel the difference.
-
A small private conference room. Quiet, well-appointed, and steps from the Inn, for a board meeting or an interview day.
Dining: Plenty of Options, Thirty That Matter
Between Bluffton and Hilton Head Island, great restaurants are never in short supply. For a planner, though, the number that matters is 30. That's how many dependable, high-quality restaurants sit within a short walk of the Inn. Whether it's a team dinner, a client dinner, or a working lunch, your group can count on them every time, without arranging a single shuttle.
Leisure travelers and corporate guests turn out to have one thing in common: they all want a great meal. We match the restaurant to the occasion, from a celebratory group dinner to a quiet table for a conversation that matters.

One Call Instead of Twelve
Planning a retreat usually means juggling a dozen vendors, a dozen contracts, and a dozen people who have never met each other. With us, it starts with one call. We know the venue managers, chefs, and guides personally, so instead of a list of names, you get a quick, direct introduction to the right provider for each part of the job. They deliver the service; we make sure you find them fast. When the group needs to go farther afield, to the golf course, the dock, or a day trip beyond Bluffton, we'll connect you with several trusted local transportation companies for shuttles.
We built this service because our corporate guests needed it, and we've been refining it with every group since. If you're planning a retreat, an offsite, or a recruiting visit in the Lowcountry, any time of year, start with us. Call our front desk at 843-707-4045 and ask about corporate retreats. You'll be connected directly with our assistant general manager or one of the owners.
