Spring, roughly March through May, brings mild temperatures in the mid-60s to low 80s, blooming azaleas across Old Town, and a town that spends its days outdoors. It is a lovely time for patio dining, slow walks beneath the oaks, and easy afternoons on the river. Spring also brings Bluffton Mayfest, a long-running Old Town tradition of live music, handmade crafts, and local food. If you love a blooming, lively town in comfortable weather, spring is a wonderful time to come.

Summer: Life on the Water

Summer is when Bluffton leans fully into the May River. Warm days and long, golden evenings make it the season for kayaking and paddleboarding in the morning, gathering for sunsets at night, and taking easy day trips to the beaches of Hilton Head and Daufuskie Island. The Bluffton Sunset Parties at Oyster Factory Park bring live music, food trucks, and some of the best sunset views in town. With the water at the center of everything, summer is made for anyone who wants to be outside and on the river.

Fall: Festivals and Seafood

Fall, September through November, brings comfortable temperatures and a full calendar of events. The Bluffton Arts and Seafood Festival, held each October, is the town's signature celebration, a week of art, music, and Lowcountry seafood along Calhoun Street, just steps from the Inn. Oyster season returns, the Farmers Market is at its most abundant, and the cooler air is ideal for biking and history walks. For festivals and seafood at their peak, fall is hard to beat.

Winter: Quiet Charm

Winter in Bluffton is mild and wonderfully relaxed. Temperatures usually stay in the 50s and 60s, and Old Town glows with holiday lights and festivities through December. It is the season for fireside dining, unhurried afternoons in the galleries and shops, and some of the most vivid sunsets of the year over the May River. With a cozy, intimate feel and room to breathe, winter is perfect for a romantic weekend or a peaceful Lowcountry escape.
