Getting Around Bluffton, SC
Here is the good news about getting around Bluffton, SC: you probably will not need to do much of it. Old Town is small, flat, and walkable, and the Inn sits right in the middle of it, so most of what you came for is a short stroll away. When you do want to range farther, the options are easy, from golf carts to bikes to the car in your driveway. Here is how to get around.
On Foot
For Old Town itself, your feet are all you need. Old Town Bluffton Inn sits in the heart of the historic district, within an easy walk of more than two dozen restaurants, cafés, and bars, plus the galleries, boutiques, and antique shops along Calhoun Street and the Promenade. You can walk to the Church of the Cross, the Thursday Farmers Market, and the Wright Family Park dock for sunset over the May River, all under shaded, moss-draped oaks. In Old Town, walking is not just the easiest way to get around; it is the best one.
By Golf Cart or Moke
If you want to cover a little more ground while still feeling like a local, get around by golf cart or Moke. Old Town Bluffton is genuinely golf-cart friendly, with street-legal carts sharing the roads throughout the historic district, and cruising in one is a bit of a Lowcountry rite of passage. Local companies rent street-legal carts and Mokes, usually delivered right to you, though some ask for a minimum rental of a day or two, so it is worth arranging ahead. Just ask our team and we can help set it up for your stay.
By Bike

Bluffton is made for cycling: the terrain is flat, the streets are shaded, and the pace is gentle. You can rent a bike in town by the hour or the day and ride through Old Town, out along the quiet backroads that wind through the marsh, or onto local paths like the New River Linear Trail. A favorite loop is an early ride to Corner Perk for coffee, then along the riverfront before the day heats up.
By Car and Getting Here
You will want a car for trips beyond Old Town. Hilton Head Island is about twenty minutes away by Hwy 278, Savannah is roughly forty minutes, and Beaufort is about forty-five minutes, which makes Bluffton an easy base for day trips around the Lowcountry. If you are flying in, the closest airport is Savannah/Hilton Head International, about a thirty-minute drive, where the major car rental companies are based. Parking is easy to find in Old Town, and taxis and rideshares are available if you would rather leave the driving to someone else. Our guest services team is happy to help with directions, parking, or day-trip planning.

However you choose to get around, Bluffton runs at an unhurried pace, and the journey is half the pleasure. When you are ready to plan your stay, book directly with us, and we will help you make the most of every route.
