The story of OLD TOWN Bluffton INN
As a work of architectural art, Old Town Bluffton Inn reflects its environment beautifully. Our stately parlor captures the atmosphere of community that defines this small town. The balcony overlooks a vibrant dining and entertainment district that has infused Bluffton with energy and life, while richly appointed guest rooms reflect the hospitality that lies at the heart and soul of the Lowcountry. Among places to stay in Bluffton, South Carolina, the hotel is unrivaled.
For the experiential traveler, it’s an opportunity to be immersed in the culture of one of the South’s hidden gems. For groups, it’s a chance to truly connect with one another amid the fine cuisine and festive atmosphere of Old Town. And for a romantic getaway, there’s simply no other place with the intimate atmosphere, gentle salt breezes, and sultry Southern charm of our one-of-a-kind inn.
WHAT GROUNDS US OUR FAMILY STORY
Welcoming each and every guest with gracious Southern charm are husband and wife proprietors Vince and Danielle Harrison. Danielle has called the Lowcountry home since 1977, and Vince arrived on Hilton Head Island in 2002. In 2011, they chose Bluffton to raise their son, McLean—drawn to the same charm, rhythm, and welcoming spirit that now defines the Old Town Bluffton Inn experience.
As proprietors of Old Town Bluffton Inn, Danielle and Vince Harrison make you feel part of their home from the moment you pass through the front door. Frequently found in the parlor of the hotel, they are ready to welcome to you as their personal guests. A result of deep family ties and Southern upbringing, Danielle and Vince's combined passion for hospitality is apparent during the time you spend.
Danielle's passion for business and hospitality derives from her late mother, Terry, who was a trailblazer for women in business and politics. Terry's influence is felt through artwork and antique items throughout the hotel, creating a welcoming environment for all to enjoy.
A self-described "shop kid", Vince grew up in a family business of furniture. Through this passion, he found a connection with French heritage furniture - an influence felt at every turn in the Inn. Together, the couple raise their son, McLean as the latest in a long line of "shop kids".
In addition to the family, Old Town Bluffton Inn is represented by our friendly mascot, Camo. Camo is a small, delightful dog with a great sense of place and humor. She is truly the spirit of the hotel and welcomes each guest. Though the hotel does not permit pets, Camo offers a unique ability for guests to connect with a delightful Canine Concierge to make you feel at home!
When you stay at Old Town Bluffton Inn, you are part of the Harrison family. We look forward to welcoming each and every one of you.
WHAT INSPIRES US: BLUFFTON’S STORY
Bluffton has been many things in its long history. A secluded retreat for wealthy planters. A haven for those freed from the bonds of slavery. An eclectic commune for intriguing artists. A bedroom community for the bustling resort island just over the bridge. A thriving melting pot of transplants from around the world that never seems to lose its small-town charm.
But for all the things Bluffton has been, one thing has been constant. It's a rhythm, dictated by the gentle tug of the tide as it ebbs and flows along the banks of the May River. This relaxed pace serves as nature's greatest cure for the hectic tempo of the modern world. Set a spell on the banks of the May and you'll soon find yourself in that rhythm. And when you're in it, you'll never want to leave.
At Old Town Bluffton Inn, it's our privilege to give you a chance to spend a few days or more discovering the simple pleasures of this breathtaking slice of the South. And when you find the rhythm of the tide pulling you back to our shores, we'll have a room waiting for you.
What Makes Us Smile: Love Letters From Guests
Who doesn’t love a hand-written letter? We’re lucky to receive more than our fair share of them. We call each one a love letter; a small gesture that speaks volumes about our inn’s heartfelt hospitality. Here’s one from a future guest that we couldn’t resist sharing.
Guest Testimonials
Dear Danielle,
I wish you a wonderful Holiday Season filled with Joy and Happiness. Thank you for always making my time in Bluffton special and meaningful. I adore you and this beautiful environment. Thank you for creating the magic!!
Love, Deirdre
We've both stayed in luxury hotels and resorts across the US and around the world. This property's feel and service are on par with some of the best we've seen.
It's immaculately clean and well maintained. Each room has its own beautifully decorated private bathroom and the pantry is generously stocked. Even better, it's independently and locally owned. The owners are friendly, wonderful people who were on-site every day (even on the weekend).
There is so much to see and do within walking distance. Fantastic restaurants, bars and shops abound. We went to dinner with friends and family on a Saturday night at a fantastic local restaurant within walking distance of the Inn. Walking back we stumbled on two venues playing really great local music.
We highly recommend Old Town Bluffton Inn and will be back!
Dear Danielle,
Thank you so much for welcoming me into your inn on Sunday afternoon. You allowed me to store my luggage in your office for a few hours and even helped arrange transportation to the Savannah airport.
Your Inn is spectacular but your act of kindness to a complete stranger is even more special.
It was an absolute pleasure to meet you, spend a few minutes chatting about your business and life in general, and I know our paths will cross again. I hope to be a guest in your inn on my next visit to the area.
Thank you again.
Deirdre
